Larger, lighter and more powerful than its predecessor, the second generation Audi Q5 made a grand entrance at the 2016 Paris Motor Show.

Riding on the same platform as the A4, the new Q5 sports an updated Q7-inspired grille as well as sleek new LED headlights, while despite having an extended wheelbase, the Q5 has shed nearly 200 pounds.

Inside, spaciousness is the word as rear seat legroom increases while improved surface materials help elevate the level of refinement. In addition, Audi’s virtual cockpit and a rear-seat infotainment system are offered.

The Quattro® all-wheel drive system is upgraded with new Ultra technology that disconnects the rear wheels, allowing more efficient everyday driving. Initially, the only U.S. engine option will be the 252-horsepower turbocharged 2-liter gasoline engine found in the A4.

U.S pricing and delivery has not been announced yet, but European sales start early next year at a base price of about $51,000.
